Tried La Zenia for the first time and was very impressed. We arrived about half an hour before our booked time but still got a table (outside as it was a nife evening). Had four tapas and a flatbread between two of us and it was just the right amount. The gambas pilpil was excellent with a nice garlic and chilli sauce. The morcela was really good too as was the aubergine. With a bottle of Rioja and service charge it was just over £70 for both of us but well worth it. A lovely little taste of Spain on Mapperley Top.

We had a lovely meal for 8 at La Zenia. Staff made us very welcome and made it a pleasant afternoon. Food was delicious, and well presented . There were plenty of options for everyone including vegetarians. I specifically liked the flatbread s. Service was timely. All staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The music was a nice touch; gentle Spanish tunes .

Perfectly cooked flavourful food , home style cooked food with great service . Had to order extra bread to dip in to not waste the sauce that came with the prawns and olives. Can’t wait to go back.

I have been all over Spain and also to many authentic Spanish tapas restaurants in the UK and around Europe. I can honestly say that this restaurant is quite easily one of the nicest I have been to. La Zenia is a very well ran family restaurant and is named after the place in Spain where the restaurateur lived, which is just south of Torrevieja. For those who know, this is only a short drive to the famous makers of Cuarenta y Tres licor (or Liquor 43 as we English know it as). Named after the 43 ingredients used to make the drink, this is an absolute MUST dessert drink to follow the fantastic food served at this restaurant. They offer alfresco dining during the day if you want to soak up some sun with your bread and olives, but to really enjoy what this place has to offer, I would recommend sitting in so you can hear the sizzle of the food being freshly prepared while the lovely owners engage you in funny and interesting conversation of their lives in Spain and how their restaurant came about. The food was all rich in flavour, and it is obvious that a lot of care and attention has been put into creating delicious authentic tapas dishes that will make you wish you could eat it again. If you live local, you will definitely make La Zenia your favourite Spanish tapas restaurant or, if, like me, you live much further away, you will definitely make this your first 'go to' place to eat whenever you are in town. I could describe each dish in detail, but I think the best way is to leave it to you to taste it for yourself! The drinks available here complete the whole experience and pair with the dishes as well as any sommelier could offer. Whether it's date night, family meal, or lunch to impress your work colleagues, take them here and try it... you will not be disappointed. Buen provecho!

We had such a fabulous meal last night at La Zenia. The staff were super attentive and were really knowledgeable about the food on offering. The food came out very promptly which was great as we were starving. We got 3 tapas dishes each and a flatbread to share, which was the perfect amount of food. The sangria was the icing on the cake, really made us feel like we were in Spain. We will be returning, and will 100% recommend to friends and family or anyone after an authentic Spanish tapas. The most authentic spanish tapas in Nottingham that we have tried (and we have tried a lot!)! A special shout out to Sam our waiter, he was fantastic and made our evening.

We booked a table the week before because this beautiful restaurant is so busy! The service and staff were impeccable, not one fault in their smiles, efficiency, and care throughout our whole meal. The atmosphere was perfect - an intimate, cheerful buzz but could still have a conversation with my partner. Perfect for date night, catch up with a friend, or a group gathering! The food was outstanding, the BEST Spanish tapas restaurant we have been to in a very long time! We had the classic patatas bravas, charred padron peppers, Moroccan beef tagine, Mejilliones (mussels in a tomato and cream sauce), Morcilla de Burgos (crispy bread topped with Spanish black pudding from Burgos, with a blue cheese puree and sweet tomato jam), and Blanca Pan Plano (honey glazed goats cheese, mozzerella, red onion, and rocket flatbread). All of which was to die for, meat tender, black pudding full of flavour, soft and moist, the mussels divine and the sauce so good! For pudding we had Affogato and freshly made hot churros with a stunning chocolate sauce! I had a natural wine which was beautiful, and we were given a complimentary Limoncello at the end of our meal. We felt the overall price was spot on for the quality of the food, service, and evening as a whole. Very much highly recommend!!

Took the wife last night to celebrate her birthday. Absolutely amazing food and the calamari was exceptional. 1st time ever in this country have we had it cooked perfectly. Had to order it again. To be honest we would have ordered everything again. The service from the staff was very attentive. Thank you again for a very pleasant evening. We will definitely be back.
